ctosy (beta)
Assets (categories, resources and positions):

A tourist asset in Ectosy app is defined by category, resource title and positions. Category can be one of the following: mobile house, camper parcel, tent parcel, room, apartment, villa or house. A resource must include at least one position (position is an actual accomodation unit).

Positions that are included in a common resource are from same category and share similar amenities and publishing options which are defined at the resource level.

Each position can have its own description, geolocation data and a set of pictures. Positions can be assigned different price lists.

Note: before entering your first resource you need to enter your user data. You should also enter your AI API key if you want to use AI options described below.

In order to enter your tourist resource first select the category of its positions (top of the screen) and click on the big plus ➕ icon in the Periods, Price lists or Views tab. To view/edit an existing asset click on the 🔎 icon.

User status:

Before entering actual resource data it is important to understand the user's status as to the resource. Click on the 'About owner/renter' button and you will be presented with three variants:

1. User is the resource owner and rents it (provides the acommodation service). In that case you will see your user information presented in About owner/renter section. If you change your user information (for example, change of address or email) you will see the sync option (red circle icon) next to the input field that contains changed data.

Note: you won't be able to change Owner's PIN (personal identification number) after the first time you save the resource so enter the PIN carefully.

2. User is not the resource owner but nonetheless rents it. In that case check the option 'App user is not the owner of this resource', enter owner's data and at the bottom select option: Renter is app user (you).

3. User is not the resource owner not rents it. In that case check the option 'App user is not the owner of this resource', enter owner's data and at the bottom select option: Renter is resource owner.

The reason behind that distinctions is a fact that Ectosy app has been built not only as a property calendar but also as a powerful and dynamic marketing tool. For example, Ectosy user can be a marketing agency providing its promotion/marketing services to a tourist resource owner, web page owner/manager offering banner space on his web page, a blogger etc.

You will not be able to change that entries after you save the resource for the first time.

Resource:

Think of resource as a 'bucket' for positions that are actual tourist accomodation units which fall within the same Ectosy category (rooms, apartments, villas etc.) and share some common characteristics. You should not immedeately think that resource equals, for example, hotel building with its accomodation units (rooms, apartments etc.) as positions. In its simplest form that concept is generally correct but only as a starting point.

Namely, very rarely you will see a hotel that consists only of X number of equal, for example, rooms. Hotels in real life have different kind of rooms and/or aparments, with different amenities and properties (and prices). In order to make sense of that situation in a classificaton context, it is necessary to divide and group positions that share same properties in several separate resources that, as a fact of life, exist in the same hotel as a building but, in a business context, they are different parts of a system. So, for one hotel as a building, you will make resource Hotel Imperium - Single Rooms (with 10 positions - rooms), Hotel Imperium - Double Rooms (with 15 positions - rooms), Hotel Imperium - Classic Apartments (with 5 positions - apartments) and Hotel Imperium - Comfort Apartments (with 3 positions - apartments). Look for some more examples at the end of this page.

A resource is defined by its title and information that all its positions share. That shared information is collected within 5 input fields:

1. Resource: main

Define the resource title, the country in which it is located, basic settings that are common for all positions (min/max stay, check-in, check-out, capacity, rating visibility) and EV charging amenity.

2. Resource: payment

Define payment data details and conditions that will be visible to customers.

3. Resource: price visibility

Set the price visibility options which define the way and extent the price is calculated and presented in public promotional modal.

4. Resource: amenities

Define the amenities that are shared across all positions depending on their category.

After you save the resource, it and its positions will become visible in the appropriate selections across the Renter dashboard.

Positions:

After entering resource title you will be able to add positions to the resource.

Position is actual accomodation unit that falls within one of seven Ectosy categories (mobile houses, camping parcels, tent parcels, rooms, apartments, villas and houses). Position is always defined within a resource - even if, for example, you rent only one villa. It is completely valid to enter a position 'Beach Villa' within a resource 'Beach Villa'.

To add a position to the resource click on the 'Add new position' button, enter the position title and cofirm by clicking on the green check icon. After that you will be presented with four buttons for opening input fields that are specific for the chosen position:

1. Position: main

Set the position availability status and whether it is in permanent lease.

Here you can enter two position id numbers and note that the second one could be obligatory pursuant to your country regulations. If you enter it here, it will be visible in the public modal. You are solely responsible for that so be sure to check whether you need to enter this id. Ectosy.com is not a booking platform. Customers cannot use it to make one-click reservations nor conduct any payments.

2. Position: images

Upload images for the position and select the order they will be presented in the public promotional modal. Also, you will be able to use those images for creating Ectosy promotional material (snippets and/or articles).

3. Position: geolocation

Select the position geolocation by clicking on the map, together with the map magnification that will be initially used in the promotional modal. Maximum distance between positions within a resource can be 30 kilometers.

4. Position: description

Set the position description, with options to generate and translate it with AI.

Feel free to jump from position to position during entering their data, before saving resource. The form remembers all your previous inputs.

Generate positions descriptions with AI:

Before using AI enter your AI API key(s) - see Settings/options->AI API Keys.

You can use AI to generate position description and translate it. Under 'Position: description' input field check the 'Generate description with AI' option and select the AI API key you want to use for the operation.

Although the AI will receive information about resource context, it is highly advisable to provide AI with some additional context by choosing some of the provided features list or add custom features (write your plain words and click on the 'Confirm' button) and add location context. Choose the description length (default is 120 words) and click on the 'Generate AI description' button which should result in the description visible in your position form.

Translate positions descriptions with AI:

Before using AI enter your AI API key(s) - see Settings/options->AI API Keys.

Of course, you can translate position descriptions in all languages yourself or copy/paste them from other source.

But you can also use AI for that. In order to make AI multi-langual position descriptions first generate one in English. After that you will be able to translate it from English to any other language using AI.

Just click on any other language and you will be able to check the 'Translate from English' option. After that select the AI API key you want to use and generate translation by clicking on the 'Translate' button. Ectosy public promotional modal will include descriptions in all languages you enter in this form.
