1. What is Ectosy.com?
Ectosy.com is a web app with tourist property calendars, dashboards and other related options, integrated with custom promotional capabilities.
2. What do you mean by 'custom promotional capabilities'?
'Custom promotional capabilities' means that a tourist resource owner/manager can use Ectosy.com to easily create his/her own web promotional material, publish it anywhere on the web and integrate its results with Ectosy dashboard.
3. What is the 'promotional material' you are talking about?
Promotional material is basically a piece of text ('snippet') with a code (HTML/CSS) that browsers understand and present on the screen as visual objects (words, sentences, paragraphs, buttons, cards, links etc.). Click on that object opens your promotional modal by which a potential guest can express his/her interest for a tourist accomodation. Another kind of promotional material is Ectosy article.
4. That means I just register and Ectosy.com will send me many guests? Yes?
No. Ectosy empowers you with custom web promotional capabilities but it is up to you to be active and use them.
5. What do you mean by 'needing to be active' about Ectosy snippets?
Ectosy snippets 'live' on web pages. For example, if you already have your business or personal web page you can use it to host your own web snippets. If your friend or partner have it, you can ask him/her to host your snippet. Or you can strike a deal with some other business, news or similar web platform (Ectosy B2B dashboard is dedicated to that).
6. Ugh, that is too complicated and I just don't see the reason to bother. I will stick to my booking aggregator/agent, it's worth the provision I am paying.
That's ok. Using Ectosy really means getting used to something new and to be proactive in order to diversify your promotional channels and reduce the provision costs. Enhanced independance and savings do not come without some learning and extra effort.
7. What happens after a potential guest expresses his/her interest for my property?
You will be notified about it in the Ectosy dashboard and by email. After that it is up to you to contact the guest on his/her email and do your best to transform that interest into reservation.
8. Does the potential guest have to register on Ectosy.com to express his/her interest for my property?
No. A potential guest has only to notice your promotional snippet somewhere on the web, click on it and he/she will be presented with the modal window with your property information and a form to fill for expressing interest and contact email address.
9. So Ectosy is not a booking system but a system that I can use to collect and channel interest for my property on my Ectosy dashboard?
That is correct. Ectosy.com is not a booking platform. Guests can not make reservations nor make any payments with it.
10. I am not a programmer nor know anything about code (HTML/CSS). Can I also make snippets?
Of course. You can make most popular snippets with provided forms and by tweaking predefined snippets. If you want you can even use AI for that.
11. How is a snippet deployed on a web page?
Just copy-paste its code from Ectosy dashboard on that web page. Also you will need to put this line into the <head> of that web page: <script type='module' src='https://utils.ectosy.com/ectosy-public.js' defer></script>. That is our code that makes ectosy snippets functional.
12. Do you have a Wordpress plugin?
We hope that Insert Ectosy Snippet will be available soon. You will be able to use it to make Wordpress shortcodes from Ectosy snippets. Until than you can copy-paste Ectosy snippet directly as Custom HTML or use any plugin for creating shortcodes from HTML/CSS as Ectosy snippets are just HTML/CSS code.
13. You mentioned 'Ectosy article' before. What is that?
Ectosy article is basically a web page that consists of title, subtitle, two paragraphs and two pictures. That elements can be combined into four different visual formats ('alternating', 'aligned left', 'aligned right' and 'big image'). It is very easy to make an article in Ectosy dashboard and fill it with your promotional snippets (clickable text snippets inside paragraphs and images also as clickable snippets). Each Ectosy article has its url address that can be used in any link on the web. It is a fantastic way to quickly create web promotional material, whether permanent or for some specific event/location/show etc.
14. Will Ectosy snippets slow down a web page they are hosted on?
There will be no visible degradation in web page performance. Ectosy snippets are not notoriously heavy <iframe> browser elements but fast and efficient web components.
15. How many snippets can I create and use?
There is no limit. You can create and use as many Ectosy snippets as you want and put them on as many web pages as you want. All them will funnel interest for your tourist property into your Ectosy dashboard.
16. Do you have mobile app?
As of yet, there is no Ectosy mobile app. But you can install Ectosy web app on your mobile phone as PWA (progressive web app). Just click on Settings/Install Ectosy.com.
17. What is your pricing?
For time being our pricing is zero. We will try to keep it that way. However, if that changes you will be notified in a timely fashion and, of course, you will not be charged for anything without your prior acceptance.
